Obituary for Gerry Oxford-Hartwigsen

Gerry Oxford-Hartwigsen, age 87, of Billings, Missouri, passed away at 3:37 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born January 18, 1931, in Hope, Arkansas, the daughter of Leon Edward and Lucy Alma (Gilbert) Darwin.

Gerry was a 1948 graduate of Santa Ana High School in Santa Ana, California. She attended Jr. College in Santa Ana, California and graduated in 1971 from Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri with her teaching degree. Gerry was an elementary school teacher for 20 years in Marionville and Billings school districts and was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ in Springfield.

Gerry is survived by her three daughters, Phyllis McEntire of Willard, Missouri, Janelle Terry and her husband, Mike of Billings and Kameron Skora and her husband, Ron of Springfield; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her parents, Leon and Lucy, her husbands, Clarence Oxford, who passed away in 1983 and Ira Hartwigsen, who passed away in 2005 and two brothers, Gilbert and Wayne, preceded her in death.

A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018, at the Williams Funeral Home in Marionville, Missouri.
